《Wimbledon MFA Class Exhibition》
Exhibition Period: 3 March - 10 March 2016
Venue: Foyer Gallery, Wimbledon College of Arts, University of Arts London. SW19 3QA London, England |
This was our last class group exhibition before the graduation degree show. In March, we exhibited our latest piece of works at Foyer Gallery in Wimbledon College of Arts. I had showcased my last piece of work On the Road, From Donore to Dublin Ireland, 2016. This artwork consists of a video installation and oil paint on transparent acrylic boards.
This work depicts the false moment of present. The small television on the top of the coach driver had lost its function for reflecting the current road situation. The television had played the past “present moment” falsely. Thus I kept the actual audio of the video documentation, which was radio voice from the coach. The radio audio mentioned the huge flood issues affected the northern of England to declare the time preciously. At last, I painted 9 pieces scenarios from the false video television to express my own present moment in the journey from Donore to Dublin.
Not only paint could be built on layers, but also time could happen in different stages at the same moment. Memories could become more complex here. This last piece of Multi-layer Series presents that the overlapped layers of physical paints, time concepts and innermost memories.
I was happy to get positive feedback from the peers. I felt that is pretty good conclusion of this series even though this will keep influencing in my future project. In the second end of our group exhibitions, I already saw the huge difference of our artworks appearance from the very beginning of our course. And, I am glad to see our development throughout the course. I am really looking forward to our final degree show in June.
